- Deborah McEvoy started her yoga practice in 2003, to help manage her anxiety and the daily stress of working in a high pressure career. After leaving her employment to become a full time artist in 2006, Deborah found that yoga continued calling and she enrolled in the 200 hour YTT program at Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (SWIHA), Tempe, Arizona. Deborah is a Certified Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance. She started teaching yoga in 2011, while attending SWIHA. Her teaching has a strong emphasis in Hatha yoga, including stretching, breathing and meditation. This style of yoga combines proper alignment, balance between body and mind with the use of spiritual elements of the mind through the poses. Deborah believes that yoga enhances the balance between body, mind and spirit, bringing health to the body and soul through movement, meditation, and the use of breath work as a way of relaxation and gazing inward.
